FACE IN THE CROWD - MEGAN DESIRA, PERSONAL ASSISTANT ERSKINE PARK, NSW

MY HUSBAND John is into kickboxing so I bought us front-row tickets to the boxing for the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the gold medal bout.

We saw about 12 fights yesterday (Wednesday), 10 today and we'll be here Saturday for the gold medal fight, which we're looking forward to. It's been great to watch.

We also went to the heptathlon yesterday, which was good. We've seen a few celebrities here too, which is exciting. Cathy Freeman was here watching the boxing earlier, but too many people were asking for her autograph and I think she got a bit sick of it so she was escorted away. George Foreman's here and we saw Brooke Hanson in the crowd too.

We've been to Melbourne once before because John's cousins live here, but from what we've seen, everything has been organised really well, especially the public transport.

We've been using public transport to get around and we've found that there's always people, volunteers, around to help you and give you directions so you can get to where you need to go.

Melbourne has just come alive for the Games.

The atmosphere is awesome and the whole city's buzzing so it's great to be here and be a part of it.

I didn't get to go to the Sydney Olympics and I was really disappointed, so I figured I wasn't going to miss out this time. -- ANDREA PETRIE
